Outside Magazine
Dip your paddle into the warm waters of the Turkish Mediterranean on this new sea kayaking adventure along the coast of ancient Anatolia. We journey back in time as we paddle the crystal bays and inlets of the Mediterranean in our stable sea kayaks and take time to hike among the remains of ancient monuments and cities. Our floating home is a traditional Turkish gulet, a beautifully handcrafted motor-sailer that is both spacious and well appointed. Evenings find us aboard our comfortable gulet, where we share excellent food, wine, and stories under starry Mediterranean skies. During our journey, we'll have ample time to swim, snorkel, and sunbathe in some of the finest bays in Turkey. Highlights include a sunset hike to the fires of Mount Olympus and kayaking over the sunken city of Simena. The only requirement for this trip is that you try raki (the national drink) and take a turn at belly dancing!

You can do it!

This trip is designed for active people with some previous kayaking experience. Beginners are welcome to come along and participate on easy paddles. We'll provide all the necessary gear-just bring your spirit of adventure. And you won't find this trip anywhere else! We are the only company offering this unique combination of sea kayaking and gulet cruising.

About the Boat

A gulet is a traditional Turkish yacht, a handcrafted motor sailer inlaid with teak, oak, and mahogany. Gulets are modern versions of ancient Mediterranean trade vessels. Our boats are usually about 90 feet long and 20 feet wide, with eight double cabins, each with a private bathroom and shower. Trip members frequently sleep under the stars on the large deck in the front of the boat. Indoors there's a well appointed bar, reading table, and lounge area. Our chef will amaze you with incredible "Turkish delights" at mealtimes. Meals are served outdoors under the canvas and sailcloth awnings in the spacious dining area at the back of the boat. Due to the lack of strong wind, the sails are rarely used. Fortunately, that means calm waters and happy kayakers!

About the Kayaks

We provide stable, easy to paddle two-person (double) kayaks. Designed for safety and fun, our kayaks are roomy and
comfortable.
